Oh my goodness!
Yesterday was just brilliant!
Waking up at a disgrunted 6:25 am I got up. It wasn't fun and I was moody. With a nourishing breakfast of an apple and banana, I went to Sami's house for 7:20 and then off we went to Edale. I can't remember what time we started walking, but my hiccups had already kicked in, yippee. Anyway we walked through a village and then out into country roads.
We headed up this beast of a hill, oh my gosh I'm so unfit with 4 hours of excercise, in Summer when church stops, I'm gonna go swimming in the morning before Tae Kwon Do. After the beastly hill which tired us all out, we split the group into three, my group was Samboy, Leda and Samgirl; and with masterful minds, we go to our destination 8D
And the down came the fog. You couldn't see around 10 metres but it was cool, I put on my waterproof coat just in case- my trousers were already on and then we all grouped up and set off on a bearing to count steps, I kind of forgot mine but ohwell. Weather was currently sleet/hail.Then we split into two groups! Naomi and Becky joined our group and we did leapfrogging (not jumping over each other type, kind of walking on a bearing in strands so we don't stray). After Barker swore a lot, we got to the other side of the plain and then wandered round the side of the hill/cliff thing where we met the group and kept walking.
There were a few boggy bits here, but I didn't get too mucky, it's not really hard to tell where the mud is softest and all. So when lunch came, I was relatively clean, I ate like some whole flat bread thing, a smoothie and a muffin. My ankle support band wsastarted to really do me in, but after lunch I was off again where me and Bethany sung 'In the Jungle'. xD Walking down the river which naturally meant mini water fight *giggle* I finally got to talk to the Sam's properly even though their pace was slower than mine, but I had to stay at the back after the last remeeting to make sure we didn't lose people- which we didn't.
Then we divided in two again! Lots of maths for a walking day, we had the same teams for leapfrogging but the Sam's were replaced by Laura and Bethany and we quickly leapfrogged to the Kindergates and then hit behind a large rock. Leapfrogging here was great, you'd step in snow and end shin deep in mud xD
When Barker joined us, he stood in the river (it was only 10 cm deep so yea xD) and then me, Leda and Becky started throwing snowballs at him, he threw back but never hit- like us really. Once the other group caught up, we headed down the river to the highlight of the day. Heading over Kinderscout. :D
Following the river into the boggy lands we eventually climbed up and omfg i want to go back just for that bit all over again! xD It was a good 3-4k of marsh and bog which ended up with some of us who wanted to run and didn't care about the mud being waist deep in it. Getting out was fun, I dragged Laura down >D but thankfully I didn't lose my boots. But serious fun; if you do Duke of Edinbrough gold, ask to go over Kinderscout for a practice walk xD
Laura ended up falling in mud- though she did follw me a lot so xD
Sarah1 did not approve of my crawling up the sides to get out of the mud
Samgirl2 lost a boot
Samgirl2 and Sarah2 found her boot.
Leda fell over in the river
Samboy&Girl fell over all the time often taking others with them.
Becky was loving it
As was Leda, Laura and Bethany
Naomi found it fun
I found out Dr Barker's fave Pratchett book is Ronnie's book!
And Steph lagged at the back like she had all day- she doesn't do any sports, if she doesn't do any soon I will snap at her. Seriously, she's in our walking group, she's not fucking slowing us down >.<
Another snowball fight and we were all together again and headed down into a valley (which is actually more painful than uphill) where me and Bethany sung Lion King&Jungle Book, Sarah1 confessed my happiness was starting to be scary and Barker thought I'd drugged my smoothie.
Then up the hill. My ankle was hurting so Sami made me recite pattern meanings for Tae Kwon Do, which really helped and then we got to the top and waited for Steph and Sarah2 and SG2 (they're from Bramcote ;O!!!!)
and then down again xD which hurt but Sami did the patterns thing and then we sung Lion King, Jungle Book and Little Mermaid till Sam stumbled and took us all down which was funny xD!
My pace quickened to catch up with Becky; I needed a wee. Heading out through the last field which had sheep in, Bekcy slid over and slid down the whole field once she'd discovered it was slippy, I decided to keep walking, I needed a wee. xD
Reaching the car park, I changed trousers and had my valuble wee and headed home to make the bathroom muddy!
All in all I was very mucky, gloves - brown, trousers - brown, coat - brown, hat - brown :| xD
Boots were caked in mud and I didn't care.
I swear that was one of the best and challenging days of my life; I haven't grinned so much since the Feeling gig so yeah. Samboy said it was nice to see me happy and he wants to rearrange groups so I'm with him x3! and Samgirl agrees (who can I say, pushed my up the hill by my arse LOL.)
If we'd had been camping and carrying heavier bags, it wouldn't have been as fun. Nothing's nice about sleeping in mucky tents.
What a day <3
Today though; meant to go into to school 20 minutes early for tutor. LOL. No chance, I don't even leave that early! xD
